Manipulator for Three Probe Carriage Assemblies for Automatic Ultrasonic Testing of Spiral Weld of Pipes
The system has been designed for UT of spiral weld of pipes having diameters varying from 600 mm to 1524 mm and having spiral pitch of 1000 mm to 2600 mm.
The System Comprises of the Following Elements
Twin Vertical Columns with Z axis travel for boom and counter weight mechanism.
2 x 1.5m long booms carrying carriage plates.
6m long beam having 6m long rack with linear guide on one side. There are three sets of Servo driven pinions driving three individual carriage plates, each having probe clusters mounted on it.
The system repeatability is of magnitude of +/- 50 microns and the speeds around 3 m/min.
