Chipless cutting machine is capable of cutting irradiated flow tubes, remotely with least human intervention. The cutting will not produce any fumes, spatters or chips and end preparation is not necessary.

Mechanical Tool For Cutting & Removal Of SG Tube And Plugging

SG tube cutting and removal tool for steam generator tube of 220 MWE reactor consists of

SG Plug Removal Tool :
SG plug removal tool is basically used for removing weld around the incoloy plug, which is used to plug leaky / defective tube by seal welding on tube sheet side.
SG Tube Cutting Tool :
SG tube cutting m/c is used for cutting the steam generator tube internally at a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters axially from the 400-mm thick tube sheet. Two H.S.S. Tool Bits are used for cutting the tube internally. The height at which the tube is to be cut can be reached by joining the extension pieces of feeding rod and rotating pipes.
SG Tube Removal Tools :
The tube that is already cut with the help of tube cutting tool can be removed by SG tube removal tool. A special tube removal tool made up of case hardened steel AISI 8620 having buttress taper left hand thread is inserted inside the tube's rolled portion and then pulled out with the help of nut.

All the jobs carried out through a manhole opening of steam generator, wherein the available space from tube sheet to the bottom of steam generator is only about 400-500 mm.

Portable Milling Machine

The machine is used for machining 4 nos. of SS 316 plugs (20mm long & 5.1mm dia.) embedded together in a bakelite mount of 11/4 inch dia. and 11/2 inch height.

The Dimensions of the machine without the motor are 150mm x 135mm x 100mm.

Lead screw with ACME Thread is used for all three movements with dovetail or suitable guiding.

Polysulfone Casting Machine & TFC Polyamide Membrane Coating Machine


Polysulfone casting machine is used for preparation of Micro-Porous Polysulfone support membrane from woven and non-woven fabric.

1-meter wide fabric from the unwinding roller is fed through the rollers in the machine and the chemical solution is uniformly spread on the fabric at a controlled rate. The thickness of the Polysulfone membrane coating is controlled within 50-500 microns by motorized doctor blade with help of linear potentiometer. Subsequently thin film of polyamide coating is carried out in polyamide coating machine to get Thin Film Composite (TFC) Reverse Osmosis (RO) polyamide membrane used for brackish water desalination. The fabric in both the machines travels from the unwinding roller to the winding roller. Along its travel it passes through other pin rollers. The purpose of the pin rollers is that the coated cloth at no point touches the rollers, thus preventing the coating on the fabric from getting damaged. Frontline SCADA with production monitoring, trends, history is provided. System is equipped with CCTV camera overview and recording of process.

  • The probe drive system is capable of scanning other entire plasma column of 1-meter dia. & 2.5 meter length.
  • It moves in three independent directions - Longitudinal, Azimuthally & Radial.
  • It is capable of holding the Diagnostic Probes weighing < 100 grams.
  • The location of the probe drive avoids obstruction to any of the existing ports.
  • All parts of the probe drive are vacuum compatible up to 10-7 torr and operate in temperatures of 200 °C.
  • All components of the probe drive made of non-magnetic material to avoid perturbation to the field.
  • Motion is transferred to the drive shafts by respective stepper motors. The drive shafts are connected to the stepper motors through vacuum feedthroughs.
  • The driver shafts are in turn connected to the driven shafts through the double universal and gear reduction arrangement to facilitate the movement of dished end without interfering probe drive system.

Self-Powered Flexible Press Tooling System

Self-Powered Flexible Press Tooling System

These are unique "Self-Powered Flexible Press Tooling System". The system works independently without press. Every tool has individual hydraulically operated Cylinder mounted on punch, which provides power for operation. The units are portable & can be shifted at any operating place to do punching operations.

It is essential to use Flexible Tooling System without conventional sheet-metal machinery. The system becomes useful for punching steel sheets, extruded iron or aluminum section rolled sheet steel components copper strips. The system can be adopted quickly to produce wide range of different components ranging from small length to longer strips of 6 to 8 meters, which is not possible on conventional machines.

The advantages of our system as compared to conventional systems are

  • Much lower in cost than eccentric press or press brake.
  • While compared to hand press it is competitive with respect to basic cost & also labor cost.
  • It gives no labour fatigue as in case of hand press.
  • Very compact in size & occupies small place.
